Solar fountains offer all the beauty and elegance of any other type of fountain, yet running them costs so much less.
This is because they are powered by energy from the sun, which is completely free.
An additional benefit is that they lack distracting wires, making them an harmonious addition to any patio or garden.
The fact that they are solar powered makes them very low maintenance.

Here are some tips for fountain operation and care:
- Battery – If You want to fountains works at night, a battery should be required.
(Most solar fountains do not come with one and, as a result, only run while the sun is shining.)
- Solar panels – if the pump is not running at its full capacity, ensure that the solar panel is positioned to receive the most sunlight throughout the day.
- Fluctuations – be aware that the fountain will likely provide different intensities of water movement throughout the day, depending on the strength of the sun’s rays.
- Placement – The fountain should be placed in any location to let the panel remains in the sun.
(On the other hand, if the solar panel is integrated into the fountain, the entire device must be placed in the sun.)
Some are standalone (utilize their own pedestals). Others are float in ponds or pools.
Mini solar fountain
The super efficient mono-crystalline solar panel achieves a flow rate to the pump of 180 lph, and still (on a sunny day) has enough power left over to divert to its battery buffer system.
This mechanism means that any spare power is diverted to a battery for storage during dull periods.
Solar cascade fountain
All You need to do is to place the Solar Panel in direct sunlight. Even in the shade, the Solar Panel works up to 15′ away.
The water pump constantly recycles the water. The soothing sounds of cascading water will add relaxation to your garden, patio, deck, balcony, even inside your home.
Jugs and bowl are made of natural terracotta. Weighs 24 lbs., 5 ozs.
Solar floating fountain
Floating solar fountains (called pond fountains) provide a all-in-One floating solar fountain resulting in eco friendly water flow and aeration.
These floating units require no wiring or installation. Simply place them under the sun in your pond or pool.
These fountains are great for oxygenating and preventing algae.

We get a lot of requests for solar fountains, and whilst the technology is improving, they are still only powerful enough to run smaller water features where the water doesn’t have to be pumped to a great height. This is fine if you are after just a smaller feature, and as you’ve mentioned in the article if you can cope with the fluctuations. I would have thought that the panels will improve a lot over the next year or two allowing them to power more powerful pumps and making them more mainstream.
how much is the solar cascade fountain and how high is it
soloar water fountain are very preferble, but in raine season it is not working contniously in few hours.
my idea is with out using power made a fountain. in this case any ideas are tere share with me please.
Thank you for the giveing imfermation.
Solar pump technology is indeed improving every year. Solar water feature pumps are now powerful enough to run the majority of mainstream fountains and garden water features. We are about to lauch a 1500LPH solar pump which would be more than powerful enough to pump over 3m in height. This makes solar a suitable option for most people now. In the UK (I’m not sure where you are based) Ann, a terracotta cascade including solar LED light is under £40 (the first picture on the page)
